I followed this magnificent horse through the heather in Connemara on the Wild Atlantic Way and aligned with its energy. Never-ending moments of compositions unfolded in front of me as I was in sheer awe of its powerful presence.

Rapa das Bestas, or "Shaving of the Mares," is a traditional event in Galicia, Spain, where the manes of the wild horses are trimmed. Held in enclosed areas called churros, this operation involves marking foals, shaving, and delousing adult horses. These horses roam freely in the mountains, a practice dating back to the 8th century. After the event, the horses are released back into the wild. This portrait captures the profound humility and innate intelligence of a truly wild horse. Beyond its physical form, the image resonates with an energy and consciousness that speaks to the spirit of this magnificent animal.
