Photography and Its Efforts for Greater Good

The best photographs appear and then are gone within a brief moment; the more brief the moment, the more unique the image can be. With that in mind, how much do fate and luck play in the manifestation of great moments in photography that can transcend time and space and seem so much more than the sum of their physical parts? The very nature of photography is that it is ethereal by nature. The images allow the viewer to question themselves about what they are and how this can impact our understanding of the human condition we live in everyday lives. Subconsciously they have the potential to create a feeling from the viewing of particular images. At least, that is what I like to convey through my photographic works, and I have a substantial creative passion within me that stands by this. It embodies the being side of our experience at that moment, which can potentially bring a better balance to how our realities are perceived by using the heart more so than the head, bringing us back in line with the balance of nature that governs our existence of which can not work against. This also crosses over with one’s intuition, expectations, and attachments to a preconceived result in the final photographic print. In my experience, the degree to which you can be open and not attached to a particular result leaves opportunities for picture-making in the realm of the unlimited and, therefore better chance of results that have an untold impact. It is only really limited by the perceptions from the conditioned mind, which you may have associated as you out of habit for a long time. The camera gives me an excellent opportunity to drop into my heart. As I view through the lens, my focus and awareness are transported and are less about me and more about ‘us’. This sense of oneness of being allows us now to be together on the journey of life and connect to a higher understanding of self and how we can support each other in the knowledge that someone cares.
