It is that crazy time of year when the world seems to hum with activity and every corner of Ireland braces itself for the celebrations of Christmas. December is rarely a month for much shooting. It is more a gentle pause when I look back over the year’s work and focus on printing and signing the steady flow of orders coming in.
There has been no single standout favourite this Christmas. Troy’s hat trick celebration and Shane Lowry’s winning putt in the Ryder Cup have both drawn strong attention. The Old Stand paired with the New Aviva Stadium has also resonated with many. That juxtaposition seems to strike a chord with anyone who holds memories of great sporting days at the iconic Lansdowne venue.
The Winter Scenes collection continues to shine at this time of year. Phoenix Park, Stephen’s Green and a few well loved Dublin pubs capture the spirit of Christmas with a sense of familiarity and calm. Bewley’s appears often to its timeless presence wrapped in the soft winter light. Although black and white photography remains the heart of what I do there is a Colour Landscape Photography of Ireland section filled with vibrant scenes for those who enjoy a touch of brightness during the shorter days of Winter.
While the Gallery on Dawson Street is no longer in place we are busy in the Kilkenny Studio sending out framed original prints each day. They can be delivered wherever suits and I am always happy to include a message on a card to make the gift that bit more personal.
Last orders for Ireland are the 20th and Europe the 18th, but maybe don’t leave it that late as no point in tempting fate.
I would be delighted to help.
Warm Regards to everyone.
Patrick
